Our adventure

Princess and the Pinot is the brainchild of Soma Jennings.

I have had a passion for wine as long as I can remember, but was initially put off a career in the wine world because of the snobbery and haughtiness associated with it. When I lived in Australia I visited some top vineyards and was attracted to their relaxed yet informative approach to wine.

When I moved back to the UK I started studying wine with the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), the internationally recognised body that trains the top sommeliers and wine journalists. It started out as a hobby, completing Level 2 (Intermediate) as evening classes after work. I loved it. When I passed with Distinction I knew I had to carry on, and that's when it got serious. Level 3 (Advanced) is a commitment, so I chose to study with Ronan Sayburn Master Sommelier. Ronan's experience (Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons, Gordon Ramsey, Hotel du Vin, The Dorchester, 67 Pall Mall), stories and enthusiasm inspired me to quit my day job and pursue a career in the wine industry.

I now primarily run pop-up wine bars, currently at The Perch in Marlow and Perkys Coffee House in Wooburn Green. I am looking to expand to other locations. The pop-up wine bars continue to focus my mission of helping people to drink better wine... and not necessarily at higher prices.

Wine consultations

Not a wine tasting as you know it, but an opportunity for Princess and the Pinot to visit you in your home and help you to curate your wine rack. You tell us what kind of wines you would like to taste, we tell you where to buy them and then we can talk you through them.

Private events

We can organise a wine-focused event in your home or for a corporate away day. The focus will be exploring wine, and food and venue can also be sourced to meet your needs. If you would like us to host your Christmas party, then please do get in touch.

Email us with your details to find out more.

Did you know?

We sell the best bottle stops that help you keep your wine fresh after it’s been opened. Buy them at our pop up wine bars, or email soma@princessandthepinot.com.

AntiOx bottle stops are an industry secret.
They have a carbon filter that will keep your wine fresh after
opening for many days longer than a vacuum stopper.

Avina sparkling wine bottle stops have a seal
that’s so tight not only will it keep the bubbles in your
wine, but you can lie the bottle down in the fridge.
